EA Sports have today confirmed that the Russian national team and all Russian clubs have been removed from FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online as an act of solidarity towards Ukraine.
The announcement comes following Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. The move has been met with widespread condemnation from across the planet, including the football community.
“EA SPORTS stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.
“In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA SPORTS has initiated processes to remove the Russian National Team and all Russian clubs from EA SPORTS FIFA products including: FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online. We’re also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games.” read the official statement.
In the past week, the football community has come together in acts of support for the people of Ukraine, who find themselves in the middle of a war. Most recently, supporters of Liverpool and Chelsea came together to show solidarity towards the people of Ukraine during their Carabao Cup final clash at Wembley.
