On Saturday, 5th Feb, an Arsenal supporter posted a tweet about her son, who was a victim of bullying. The post included an image of the boy, who stood smiling in front of the Emirates Stadium.

Just when she was looking to cheer her son up, a lot of people, mostly Arsenal fans, responded to the tweet with positive messages in support of the young man.

One such message was from none other than Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman assured the family of his support and invited them to a game. He also had a strong message against bullying, “Bullies will never win.”, he wrote.

The gesture has left many, but most of all, the boy’s mum, speechless. Fans didn’t hold back in letting their thoughts be known about their captain’s act.

Bullying has no place in society, and the Arsenal skipper’s gesture highlights the importance of football’s role in combating social issues.
