“I understand them, but i will not return to the national team” says the 28-year-old. Within seconds, he is asked whether it is his final decision, and the Chelsea winger confirms that it is indeed his final decision.
Ziyech is then asked whether he felt bad about the decision to leave him out and he quickly replies: “Of course, who doesn’t!? But, at the end of the day it’s a decision he (Morocco head coach Halilhodžić) makes. You have to respect it, but in the end if all the lying comes with it, for me it’s clear and I will not return to the national team.”
He ends by saying that he understands the news would be a disappointing one for Moroccan fans and that he feels sorry for them.
