Ahead of his team’s high profile clash with rivals Liverpool, Thomas Tuchel explained didn’t like the comments made by his star striker in his latest interview with Sky Sport where the Belgian revealed he was unhappy at Chelsea.

“I don’t like it. It makes noise that we don’t need for our environment and focus and and it does not help.

“I don’t think he is unhappy. I would have said the opposite. That’s why it is a surprise.

"Maybe it feels louder but I feel it would be loud anyway with these kind of headlines.

"You cannot win enough to not talk about these headlines in media. Today's world is today's world and everything you say is in public if you're such a big player like Romelu and he's an experienced player and he surely knows what kind of value it has when he speaks out messages like this."

Tuchel’s team is sat in second place in the Premier League, having played a game more than Jurgen Klopp’s side, who they face on Sunday. Both sides will be playing for a win to keep up with Manchester City, who have opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the table.
