Una es de la Juventus y la otra, de Qatar.
Modric is considered one of the finest midfielders in the world and the Croatian has been demonstrating exactly why again this season. Real Madrid knocked out defending champions Chelsea at Bernabeu this week to book their place in the Champions League semi-finals and it was Modric’s outside of the boot cross to Rodrygo that got them back in the game when Madrid looked to be heading out. It was also Modric who teed up Benzema in the penalty box to head in the Frenchman’s second of three in the first leg.
The former Tottenham man also shone against PSG in the round of 16, picking out Benzema for his second of the night from an impossible angle after having pushed the team up with a solo run seconds before during the return leg.
The 36-year-old has been instrumental in the Spanish giants’ success, especially the three Champions League wins in a row under Zinedine Zidane, ever since he arrived from the Premier League in 2012.
He also played a starring role in leading Croatia to a World Cup final for the first time in the nation’s history in 2018. He was awarded the Ballon d’Or in recognition of his contribution to both club and country for the calendar year.
It is believed the midfielder’s priority is to stay at Real Madrid, and will only be listening to other offers after speaking to Los Blancos chiefs. It is believed it is only a matter of time before Madrid, who are currently 12 points clear in La Liga, begin talks with the player and his representatives.
