Paris Saint-Germain announced on Tuesday the signing of Lionel Messi on a free transfer, making it arguably the most high-profile move in modern football. Messi signed a two-year deal with an option to extend for another year with the Paris club.
Messi was forced to look at other options after La Liga’s rules made it impossible for him to continue with Barcelona despite his willingness to take a 50% wage cut to stay.
At PSG, Messi joins a host of stars, including fellow Argentinians Di Maria, Paredes and Icardi and his former Barcelona teammate Neymar.
