Barcelona are desperately in need of a top-quality striker with Erling Haaland being the top name on their wish list. However, recent reports suggest that Manchester City are better placed to get a deal done given the finances involved.

So, the Catalans are forced to look beyond Haaland and as per the latest report from AS, Barca have contacted Liverpool sensation, Mohamed Salah, for a potential move to Camp Nou.

Though president Laporta hasn’t given up on the Norwegian yet, aware of the quality that he would bring to the team and with Mbappe likely to join Real Madrid, the move can potentially spark another epic rivalry in La Liga since Messi and Ronaldo.

Barcelona are keeping tabs on the player’s situation with the Egyptian recently turning down a renewal offer from Liverpool. Reports show that initial contacts with the player have been ‘positive’.
