Manchester City have made Erling Haaland signing a priority in the summer, as per The Athletic.
Real Madrid would ideally want the forward to spend another year at Dortmund so that Benzema’s departure and Haaland’s arrival could coincide. PSG are also thought to be interested but Ligue 1 isn’t high up in the player’s preferred destinations.
Haaland, one of the most sought-after forwards on the planet at the moment, is ready to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Even better news for all interested clubs is that a €75m release clause kicks in during the summer and Man City would be desperate to snap the 21-year-old up on a bargain. Club legend Kun Aguero is yet to be replaced following his departure, with Pep opting to use the likes of Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva in the false nine role.
For Real Madrid, however, it is slightly trickier than that as Frenchman Kylian Mbappe remains the absolute priority. That said, Florentino Perez is believed to be a fan and would make funds available for Haaland, having been helped by the fact that Mbappe would be joining on a free.
Haaland, with 16 goals in 13 starts in the Bundesliga this season, would immediately make either club a formidable opponent.
