Tottenham are looking to do a deal with Wolves that would see Traore join the North London side on a loan with an obligation to buy, according to a report on The Telegraph.

Spurs will also be looking to bring in a midfielder and an attacker this January window to support the rebuilding process under new manager Antonio Conte.

Wolves run the risk of losing the Spaniard on a free as he is entering the final year of his contract and hasn’t yet shown his desire to sign a renewal. 

Spurs could wait till the summer or agree a fee in the region of £20m to secure his signature this month.

Antonio Conte has steadied the Tottenham ship, with his side now unbeaten in 8 after having previously lost 3 in 5 before he took charge. Spurs could find themselves in the top four, leapfrogging archrivals Arsenal in the process, provided they win their games in hand.

The Italian is said to be keen on converting the 25-year-old into a wing-back and making him the attacking outlet of the team if a move materialises.
